Business Fights poverty: Gender Summit 2022

Our Senior Marketing & Transformation Manager Mansi Kabra joined the Gender Summit 2022 organized by Business Fights Poverty exploring the role that business can play in driving gender equity. This year’s virtual Gender Summit was organized by Business Fights Poverty on March 8 and 9, 2022.

Mansi contributed to a session hosted by the UN Foundation.

|Theme: How can we drive gender equity through responsible sourcing?

This session looked at the promise of responsible sourcing to improve the lives of millions of women workers globally. It also explored different ways to incentivize business leaders towards women’s wellbeing in the supply chain.

Citing GBL’s research, Mansi shared that investing in soft skills, health

and well-being of employees is essential to not just drive empowerment and action but can also bring a paradigm shift in the way business is done. She shares the results of P.A.C.E. program by GAP inc. under which they trained female garment workers in soft skills. GBL’s evaluation of the program found that it garnered not only productivity gains, but also several social outcomes impacting the personal lives of the workers as well while also bringing massive returns to the employers.
